The Core is the main objective that must be destroyed for one team to win. It can only be damaged by Basic Attacks from Heroes and Minions. The Core is completely immune to Ability Damage, On-Hit Item procs, and any added effects such as Primal Fangtooths Burn.
The Core gains a significant damage reduction for each inhibitor that is currently still active when it is being attacked, and is completely immune to damage while all three Inhibitors are fully active. At one inhibitor destroyed, the Core takes 70% less damage, and at two inhibitors destroyed it only takes 10% less damage. The Core deals 70% of its damage to Heroes.
The Core has 30% Physical Penetration and reduces enemy Penetration by 20%.
