Shinbi is a playable character in Predecessor. She is from Axion Prime.
Lore
A star amongst the city lights and satellites, Shinbi's origins were far more humble. Her family moved to the high-tech city of Vexis when she was young, abandoning their outdated farmstead in the hopes of a better life. Shinbi thrived in the neon glow, but never forgot the wild rhythms of her rural home and an encounter with a mysterious wolf pack that had once saved her life; a memory that would go on to inspire her adorable and beloved mascots.
Now, Shinbi reigns as Axion Prime’s undisputed pop sovereign, filling sold-out arenas with her effervescent charm and signature hard-light holo-wolves prowling the stage at her command. Bubbly and endlessly marketable, she beams through holo-feeds and billboards alike, her face the very definition of planetary stardom.
Behind the glitter however, Shinbi discovered the truth: her managers aren’t just curating her songs, they’re embedding subliminal commands in the lyrics and hiding encrypted data within the rhythms. Far from clueless, she’s spent sleepless nights decoding hidden messages - and quietly slipping her own coded warnings into her setlists, tipping off Chief Murdock’s task force without alerting the syndicate that controls her career.
By day she dances and smiles for millions, the perfect pawn in their grand design. By night she rewrites her own verses, crafting anthems that conceal real-time intel for the authorities. It’s a dangerous game: maintaining the guise of an oblivious idol while exposing the conspiracy one chorus at a time, all the while hoping the next big hit isn't one taken out against her.
